About

Success Refresh, founded by Leesa Barnes, is an online fellowship providing education and support to those who want to transform their divinely-inspired message into a prosperous business.

7 Success Refresh Tenets

To be successful sharing your divinely-inspired message, you need a rejuvenated way to transform your message into financial and spiritual wealth. The Success Refresh online fellowship was created with the following 7 tenets in mind. Read, digest and pray over the 7 tenets below. If you agree with them, you’re more than welcomed to have a conversation with us to see if there’s a fit for you in the Success Refresh online fellowship.

Tenet #1 – Faith is not a religion, it’s a success plan.

Faith isn’t a conviction, nor a religion. It’s trust in action. It’s confidence in what God will do when everything around you looks hopeless. When your cash flow has become cash stuck, when clients aren’t buying and when you’re tempted to use a dishonest tactic to spur on sales, faith stops you. Job’s faith prompted him to meditate and pray even though his friends and his wife pointed out his losses day after day. Because of Job’s faith in action, God blessed him with even more than he had.

Faith is also about vulnerability, an emotion you are taught never to show in the business world. Vulnerability leaves you open to attack and ridicule. However, vulnerability is being dependent on Someone bigger than you. Trusting God complicity and knowing He will connect you with the right people who will honour your vulnerability and care about your success is right course of action to take.

Job 42; Jeremiah 17:5-8; Hebrews 11:1; James 2:14-26

Tenet #2 – Big movements start with small fellowships.

The world teaches us to aim and think big. The problem with this approach is that it ignores all the small steps needed to get there. Thinking big while ignoring the small steps lead to disappointment and energy wasted. But God gave us the best example of a small fellowship:

Jesus and his disciples. Thirteen people. Thirteen. And by internet marketing standards, these thirteen people were no rock stars. And there was no amped up awesomeness from hanging out with them either. They were just ordinary people. And yet, they changed the world.1

Jesus wasn’t the only one healing the sick, blind and lame when He was on this planet. There were others who were doing the same thing as Jesus and also calling themselves Messiah2. Yet only Jesus had the influence and impact that created a movement where 1/3 the earth’s population call themselves a follower of His teachings3. What a great reminder as we set forth with our own businesses and marketing campaigns that it’s more important to create influence through a small fellowship than to create noise through being big.

Acts 6:17-42; Ephesians 2:11-22

Tenet #3 – God’s brilliance shines and sparkles through you.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image. Because of this, you have no competition in the marketplace. Your wisdom makes you utterly unique and while many can copy your processes, they can’t copy your personality.

To enable your brilliance to shine and sparkle, you’ll have to say no to many things. You’ll need to stop working on the things that highlight your weaknesses and step powerfully into the things that amplify your strengths. You’ll need to delegate work to the right people, automate repetitive tasks using systems and eliminate the relationships and business strategies that mute your brilliance. That way, you can freely expose your message regardless of where you work or where you run your business.

Exodus 18; Psalms 139:14

Tenet #4 – What God has blessed you with is sufficient.

Look around you. Are you happy with what you already have or do you constantly complain about what’s missing? Complaining is a blessing blocker. If you’re not happy with what you already have, how can God possibly bless you with more?

God knows what you need at this moment in time. He doesn’t give you more than you can handle. And there’s no need to be stressed or worried about what you don’t have at this moment in time. There is more than enough wealth, clients and success to go around. Because what’s for you can’t be “un-for” you.

It doesn’t mean that you don’t desire things. It doesn’t mean that you don’t make plans. God will grant all that you desire IF it fits into His plans for you. Therefore, remain thankful for what God has already blessed you with. Turn your complaints into praise. Go on a grumbling fast4. Honour God fully with your heart, mind and soul for what He has already blessed you with and get ready for an overflow of success.

Psalms 20:4; 37:4; Proverbs 3:9-10; 23:7; Isaiah 54:2-3; Jeremiah 29:11; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 6:25-34; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Philippians 4:4-7

Tenet #5 – Curiosity trumps the safety of routines.

Jesus, a carpenter’s son, challenged the scribes and Pharisees of His day. David showed that you don’t need a sword or shield to take down a giant. Queen Esther, who was desperate to save her people, approached the King when convention forbade her to do so. These Biblical heroes decided that routine and structures were holding them back from what God had called them to do.

Your message cannot expand if you’re not willing to stretch yourself physically, intellectually, spiritually or mentally. Asking questions, doing the opposite of what you normally do and being uncommon are just some of the ways that you prosper, grow and bloom.

It doesn’t mean that you become a rebel – or worst. There are many examples of people throughout history who are remembered for all the wrong reasons. Think of Queen Jezebel and Judas Iscariot. Instead, consult with God and use your curiosity to make your message come alive so you motivate and influence people for good.

Galatians 5:16-26

Tenet #6 – Being joyful is a form of worship.

The audience can’t receive a message that’s delivered by a stressed messenger. That’s why it’s important to take time to play hard. Carve out enough time in your schedule for the activities you enjoy and for the people you enjoy spending time with. Life is simply too short NOT to enjoy all that it has to offer.

Part of playing hard is to understand the value of humour and laughter. Humour heals, laughter removes pride and a smile is contagious. Don’t use laughter to mock as Sarah did when she heard that in her old age, she’d give birth to a son. Instead, use laughter to show your enjoyment. Use humour to diffuse a tense situation. Sing a song that refreshes the soul and celebrates what God is doing.

Don’t forget that taking time to rest also creates joy. You don’t have to fill your free time with activities. Even God knew the value of rest for He created the world in 6-days and rested on the seventh. He wants you to honour a Sabbath, a full day where you do not do any business tasks, so you can connect with Him. Rest is a form of worship and He desires that time with you.

Exodus 20:8-11; Psalms 100; Proverbs 17:22; Ecclesiastes 5:18-20; Ephesians 5:4

Tenet #7 – Embrace excellence as a mindset.

Your Father is rich and He holds the wealth of the world in His hands5. And because you’re His child, you are a child of a King. Be majestic in your thoughts, be regal in how you carry yourself and aim to deliver your message into the marketplace in a splendid way.

Be careful. Excellence isn’t about pride. You can’t save everyone in the world (only Jesus could do that). Nor does an attitude of excellence grant you the license to treat others poorly if they’re not at the same level as you. Remember that Jesus became poor so that through His poverty, you would become rich.

Instead, excellence is about putting your personal stamp on everything you do. It’s about being timely, consistent and clear about your boundaries. When you show discipline in how you present your divinely-inspired message to the marketplace, other areas of your life will benefit as well. What you eat, how you dress, the words you use, how you treat your body, the entertainment you consume and how you manage your finances will reflect your renewed mindset.

Remember – being remarkably good is not about being perfect. It’s about being unforgettable. So, be generous. Serve your clients well. Deliver your unique message into the marketplace. Put God first and be exceptional in all you do.
